Using Fitness To Detoxify Your Body

”Sweat cleanses from the inside. It comes from places a shower will never reach.” George Sheehan[i]

Do you have to join a gym? No! It’s about getting yourself moving. If you life and work in a big city a gym may be your best resource if you want to use fitness to regularly detoxify your body of unwanted toxins.

Hey, what about doing Yoga?  Because of Yoga’s awareness of breathing it is one of the most effective ways to clear out your lungs and restore balance to your entire body.reduce stress, more energy, sleep better

The Way Deep Breathing Clears Out Toxins In The Body

The mechanism is simple. Oxygen isn’t just ‘breathed’ into your lungs it mixes with blood in ‘air sacs.’

“Inside the air sacs, oxygen moves across paper-thin walls to tiny blood vessels called capillaries and into your blood.

A protein called hemoglobin in the red blood cells then carries the oxygen around your body. At the same time, carbon dioxide that is dissolved in the blood comes out of the capillaries back into the air sacs, ready to be breathed out.[i]

This automatic process is happening right not inside you! Every breath you take matters in other words.

3 Key Elements To Detox Without Dieting

  1. Use a daily fitness activity to help you sweat a little more.
  2. Practice deep breathing one to two times daily
  3. Get into the habit of checking how you’re doing with detoxifying your bodydetoxifying your body

Chose a few ways to ‘workout’ daily and sweat a little. A walk in sunlight can be enough for some while other people want that 20 – 30-minute cardio.  Depending on your health, the idea is to work up a sweat and increase your heart rate. Watch for good changes in health. Better sleep and more energy are common. Many women report a reduction in their stress too. Of course, we all like the weight loss.

Deep breathing a practice out of Eastern Cultures is nothing new to Americans in this century yet less than 10% of the population practice it daily. Start today. It can be done at a stop light on your commute or as you ride public transportation.

How To Do Deep Breathing

Sit comfortably inhale expanding your chest and stomach areas until you feel filled with air. Then gently exhale letting your chest fall and your stomach flatten. That’s all there is to it! So easy to do you can accomplish it several times daily if you want.

Finally, check with yourself if there are other ways you can detox without dieting. Work with a health coach and learn what your body wants most. Perhaps a Sauna or infrared room. Most gyms have one or both of these. Spend 15-20 minutes weekly enjoying one.

Not a gym-person. Sit in the Sun, outside if you can or by a window in colder weather for 20 minutes letting the sun work as a natural way to detox without dieting. You also release vitamin D into your system.

If you take D supplements, this is a great thing to do after taking your multi-vitamin. Be sure to always take D with fish oil or fatty food. It is fat soluble and sun-light activated.
